# Today

> Tandem's daily plan — what to focus on right now.

## What is Today?

Today is Tandem's suggested plan for your day. Instead of staring at a full task list and deciding what to work on, Tandem generates a prioritized view each morning based on your deadlines, priorities, and workload.

## How it works

Tandem looks at all your active tasks and sorts them into three buckets:

* **Must do** — tasks flagged must-do that are due today or overdue
* **Suggested** — good-to-do tasks Tandem recommends for today based on deadlines and priority
* **Review** — tasks worth keeping an eye on — coming up soon or worth reconsidering

Today's plan is generated fresh each day and cached so it's fast to load.

## Accessing Today

Click **Today** in the task list filter, or from the CLI:

The CLI shows your must-dos, suggested tasks, and Tandem's reasoning for the day's plan.

## When Today updates

Today regenerates each calendar day. If you complete tasks or add new ones mid-day, the list doesn't automatically change — but you can refresh it to get an updated suggestion.

## Tips

* **Keep must-do tasks honest.** If everything is must-do, nothing is. Today works best when must-do is reserved for things that genuinely can't slip.
* **Check Today first thing.** It's designed to be your starting point, not something you check after you've already decided what to work on.
