What are comments?

Comments let you attach notes, updates, or discussion to any task — without editing the task itself. Use them to track progress, log decisions, or leave context for collaborators.

Adding a comment

Open any task and scroll to the bottom of the detail view. Type your comment and press Send. Comments are timestamped and attributed to the author. On shared tasks, all project members can see and add comments.

What to use comments for

  • Progress updates — “Finished the backend, working on the UI now”
  • Decisions — “Went with option B after testing both approaches”
  • Questions — “Should this go in the Frontend or CLI category?”
  • Blockers — “Waiting on design assets before I can continue”
  • Notes — Anything that doesn’t belong in the task title or description

Comments vs task notes

The task description field is for what the task is. Comments are for what’s happening as you work on it. Use the description to capture the goal; use comments to capture the journey.
Comment notifications — alerting connected users when someone comments on a shared task — are on the roadmap.
